2/27/11 Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance

I was fortunate enough to attend the 2011 Boca Raton Concours d'Elegance this weekend. These pictures are just a sampling of the many cars and show the variety and quality of vehicles displayed. Enjoy!

The lawns upon entry.

Beautiful attention to detail.

A very nice example of a Mercedes convertible.

An amazing restoration. This car was absolutely perfect.

Four pictures of what appears to be an all original, un-restored Mk I AC Cobra. Just looking at this car makes you want to jump in and take it out on the track.

Beautiful Corvettes:

Baby Bird

A perfect example of an AMX.

Buick Super Eight

Although every section was fascinating, this was my favorite section. Some amazing Jaguars, Alfas, MG's, a Volvo P1800 and Porsches. Feast your eyes:

Healey Roadster

A few shots of an amazing Bugeye Sprite. Very NICE!

This Jag was very nice. The big rubber bumpers are not entirely desirable, but there is no denying the beauty of this car.

Dual Ghia. Rare car.

My car's close cousin, this is a very nice example of an original late model MGB. This one I believe was a 1975, and is almost identical to my car when it was new.

I took these pictures for Richard. Here's some inspiration Richard!

Turbocharged Corvair Monza Spyder with see-thru lid. Also on the field was a Corvair van which was in amazing condition. I wish I had some pictures of that van, it was very nice.

A first generation Mustang in pristine condition. I took these pictures to inspire my wife, this is the car she likes.

The whole time walking the greens, I was looking out for cars I recognize from Classic Motorsports Magazine or car personalities with whom I was familiar. Although we saw Jay Leno quite a bit and recognized Dana Mecum in the crowd, I didn't see a car I knew until I got out to the parking garage. The parking garage itself was something of a car show with Lamborghinis, Ferraris, a couple of stunning Alfas, and a variety of other cars. Parked two cars away from mine was this Midget, which looks just as good in person as it does on the pages of Classic Motorsports Magazine.

What an awesome day and an awesome experience! Everyone should attend one of these shows. This was my first but will not be my last. Im already reserving time off for Amelia Island next year!
